The audit log ends too early.
A strong model log can preserve inputs, outputs, timestamps and version information. It may still be silent about whether a recommendation was accepted, the policy that governed its use, the person who held approval authority and the action taken in another system.
The decision record owns the join.
DTF treats the model output as evidence within a larger record. That record separates recommendation from approval, approval from execution and execution from outcome.
This design lets a company change models or use several engines without losing the common accountability layer around its decisions.
Neither record proves correctness on its own.
A complete decision record can show what happened and who authorised it. Whether the decision caused a beneficial outcome requires a separate measurement design, baseline and confidence assessment.
